Fun and addictive game
The game is fun to play and I got a 283 combo. The game's story mode dialogue comes straight out of Star Fox 64 (but at least that is stated in the credits). The tank bouncing can get a tad repetitive after a while, but for some reason I couldn't help trying to get the highest combo score I could. I can't seem to achieve the last medal (which I am guessing has something to do with those planes shooting fireworks at the end of adventure mode), but I'm working on it. All in all it was a very fun game! Excellent work!
Simple and Fun game
The game is simple sidescroll game of shoot n kill anything that moves. I found it fun and a bit addictive, so nice work. Having said that, I found a few things that I think should be mentioned:
1- The game itself is too easy most of the time (even the higher levels are unbalanced as being incredibly easy with just a few cops and guards or insanely difficult with nothing but vehicles pedestrians and the occasional annoying park rangers), most of the time all you need is the tactical (automatic) shotgun and its upgrades and maybe some for armor and you can pretty much play the entire game using only that one gun. The only thing the auto-shotgun lacks is the precision to make easy headshots (I recommend the dual magnums for headshots).
2- The game has a few glitches that I noticed some of them helpful others not so much:
-When reloading, you are trapped on reloading instead of being allowed to change guns until you have time to reload safely (this is a huge problem when you're dealing with a lot of enemies firing at once)
-Rage Mode- Rage mode is pretty much useless aside from being invincible, because to be honest I found the tactical shotgun doing just as much damage if not more than the rage mode shots...BUT one thing I did notice was that (IMPORTANT AND USEFUL GLITCH GLITCH) the rage points stack up FOREVER... When I played, there was no limit to the amount of rage points I could save up even before I had any upgrades for it, you can play the easy levels and get tons of rage points then just go beserk with them on harder levels and if you are almost constantly killing something, you will hardly ever run out. (Use this to your advantage).
-There is another glitch I found while switching guns, it skips some of the guns when you try to equip them, exp: Everytime I went to equip the dual revolvers shotguns or the tactical shotgun, itd skip it and then I had to go back one to finally get to it.
-Another glitch is with the audio, you can turn the music off but when you go to turn off the sound effects, the reloading sounds stay on. (Also, I found the voice speaking "double kill" "headshot" and "RIP" kinda cool at first, but it got annoying after a while, but I kind of wanted to leave the sound effects on, so there might need to be a seperate mute for the voices next time).
-The last glitch is that I died on the last level seconds after I finished the mission and there were two helicopters on screen... well they stayed there even after the credits ended and the game returned to the main menu.
In the end though...all the errors and glitches aside, the game is fun and I enjoyed playing for the most part. XD
hah thanks for the review :)
Great Game sad news
The game itself is AWESOME! You successfully recreated the entire Super Mario Bros. Game and even included other characters with their own special abilities and theme music included. The game is very well polished and has the looks of exactly like the original rather than fuzzy pixels like some other attempts I've seen. There is but one thing about this game, and I do hate to break it to everyone, but I doubt this game is gonna last, because as long as Mario himself is in the game that is making this basically a free version of the original game, which I doubt Nintendo is going to ignore for long, BUT here's hoping the game lasts, and besides if they DO remove it all that is needed is removal of Mario and TA-DA! They can't say a word about it. Good Game and to all who are playing... Don't forget to stock up on 1-ups in level one or the secret of level 2.... XD
An EXTREMELY FUN AND ADDICTIVE GAME!!!
The game is extremely addictive, and I usually don't have much interest in these sort of games, but I liked it a lot. The bonus/special zombies were extremely funny. Zombie MJ with the 8bit mix of Thriller never got old to watch just before he and a horde of zombies ran wild in a town. I only wish you could have allowed replaying destroyed cities with all your cool upgrades and super zombies. The only thing I'D REALLY LIKE TO SEE is a sequel with actual NG medals to unlock and some more super zombies. One more thing, was there any reason why the zombie apocalypse never reached Washington, course all the maps pretty much looked the same, you need to add some variation to the obstacles like mini pyramids, tiny chinese huts, easter island heads etc. something to distinguish the lands other than the people alone. All in all GREAT game keep up the good work.
The game was excellent, the addition of duo-weilding guns was nice, the options for how much of a bloodbath you wanted to see was nice too, and the weapons were all good too... well maybe not too good as there were a few glitches or problems, as well as some secret tips i'll share
1- ARTIFACT 19 IS WAY OVERRATED! I worked my @$$ off to get it and when I finally earned it, all it did was call in a laser from the ceiling and that's it?! The recharge time is insanely slow and long, so you go to zero REALLY FAST.
2- Duo-guns all have a glitch that if you load both of them and toss one, u keep the amount of shots in the clip for 2 of them, so all u need to do is keep 2 handy and you can easily win berreta medal etc.
3- LABORATORY-MEDIUM ULTIMATE HIDING PLACE! In this level, if you jump to the left portion and jump down to the second platform, as long as you stay far away from the wall to the right, the enemies wont spawn or shoot or even be able to reach u unless u double jump, and there is a glitch that if u are on the top center platform and enemies are jumping up, all u need to do is jump left straight to the bottom level and they will disappear which is handy for escaping when low on health, manipulating what enemies u face and what weapons they have by making them disappear and respawn, and isolating a few enemies at a time. The way this level is set up, it is the EASIEST LEVEL TO EARN MEDALS ON! Use my techniques and u may be able to pull off the medals a lot easier.
4- One last piece of advice: When trying to earn medals, always have the second gun fully loaded before going into combat, and make sure it is either REALLY POWERFUL so it can save u if the gun u r trying to earn a medal for is running low on ammo or reloading at a bad time, or to increase your efficiency, have the second weapon be one that you havent unlocked a medal for yet in order to have stockpiles of ammo prior to even starting on it.
All in all an excellent game I look forward to the next one and what new weapons we get (add some more melee weapons the pipe gets old REALLY FAST).
Great Game TERRIBLE GLITCH!!
I had a BLAST smashing and blowing castles to smitherines with the different projectiles, especially the bombs and even moreso the big ones. I got gold in all the levels but my medal isnt appearing, and what's weirder is that nearly half of them aren't either and the gold medal and I hate castles medals kept appearing as unlocked everytime i look at the map overview. Fix that PLZ and the game will be AWESOM!!
GREAT GAME WITH A BAD GLITCH
I got a bunch of the medals, but OTHER THAN THE FIRST ONE WILL SHOW UP AS EARNED!?!?! WTF?! FIX IT AND YOU GOT A GREAT GAME HERE!!!
Great work on the game!
The characters were all well done. The sound was clear and fitting (however the music gets annoying during the long battles...implying that you need to make a mute button option for the game.). The battles themselves are fun, but they have a few of the following problems:
1- The mage girl's regular attack is pathetic (seriously).
2- The mage girl also has no option to change her staff like the swordsman.
3- There is no explanation of where the money for the item shops comes from.
4- When the enemies appear in groups, their health bars get blocked out by each others' bodies.
5- The enemies' health should always be visible (maybe not the number but the bar at least)
6- there should definitely be save game spots now and then, because I had to leave and was about to kill the mecha, but I closed it and had to start over.
OTHER THAN THAT...GREAT JOB!!!
GREAT SOND FX
I have been looking all over the place for decent DBZ sounds, and this is by far the best I found....having said/typed that, there is only the issue of downloading the sounds, i can record them via a voice mic, but it never comes out as clear as the original, but other than your need to fix the download link, keep up the good work.
Great game only a few problems.......
I liked the game a lot, but I can't ignore a few problems:
1- when I was shooting sometimes (in fact everytime) with a rapid-fire gun it would start floating (along with his hands away from his body which ticked me off.
2- why is it that we could only carry 2 guns at a time??? that was lame just add MORE enemies to make it harder but keep the ability to hold a lot of guns available.
3- there needed to be a lot more melee weapons (exp: a mace, a chair (for all the wrestling fans), a wrench, a candlestick (not really but it is a reference to Clue), and a huge hammer.
4- The ending (and only the ending) sucked! He goes through 3 other games only to die against an endless horde????? WTF! He should've kicked that corporate fool's @$$! (I think a better ending would've been like most situations like this E.G. the big boss performs a huge mutation upon himself and the hero kills him in a super hard battle TRULY earning his freedom.
5- Does any1 besides me realize that with the ending in this game, there won't be a Thing-thing-5 which sux.... oh well
